Do virtual and real lines cause different results?

If we model a virtual line (virtual surface) in Gambit, the result will same as the real line (real surface) in Fluent? Thanks!

Yes, indeed. Virtual geometry is only a tool used in Gambit to help user making complex geometries and, for example, to be able to have geometry "in the background"; I mean, if you merge 2 edges into one virtual edge, the original 2 edges will be send to the background. You don't see it, but if you delete that merged edge, you will see the original 2 edges again: they will come to the foreground again.

Freeman Thank you very much for this short and concise explanation I have always avoided the use of the so called virtual geometry because I never understood why it was there Why not write an article about that point on the WIKI
