Default y+ values for grid in RANS modeling

I am trying to model a 2-D RANS case for a flow through a channel. I am trying to mesh the grid. The grid should be very fine near the walls. The y+ values for the first cells from the wall should be of the order of 1. Is there any way to calculate or display y+ values from the wall in fluent?

Thank you

Yes, you can. Go to Plot -> XY, and select as Y axis parameter Turbulence -> Wall YPlus in the drop-down menus in the right.

Then you must select a wall from the list where you want to compute the y+. Be shure it is selected "curve" and not "direction vector" in order to be able to select your wall (in 2D it will be a curve)

What is more, you can adapt your mesh after a calculation if y+ values doesn't fit the desired range: to do this, go to Adapt -> YPlus, enter the range of Y+min and Y+max, Accept this, and also click OK to hanging node adaption. Then, re-solve your problem again and at the end, verify again YPlus values and re-Adapt if necessary; repeat this cycle until your ploblem gets the Y+ range you desired.

Hope this helps! Good luck
