If you are using 32 MB ram computer, Gambit is allowed to use 2GB of space. If it exceeds 2GB then you will get this error. If you want to know how this is happening, open task manager and click on performance tab. In this you can see the CPU usage. Now create the mesh and see the cpu usage while gambit is meshing.
It overcome this problem, you should split the volume and make sure each volume should consists not more than 1 million cells. Hope it helps and solves or prolem Ravi |

Hi Neelima,
it doesn't matter how much RAM you have. I have 4 GB and sometimes Gambit crashes cos its out of memory. Is it a 3D mesh? Which gambit version are you using? I'd try to do a trial run repeating the same mesh settings and monitor the memory usage of Gambit in Taskmanager (Windows) or Top (from the linux terminal). Now if it's really blowing up, you have to balance the quality of your mesh. It depends on the way you are meshing. Do you have one super volume or several volumes? If you want to do it the easy way, without controling your mesh, try moving step by step, increasing the mesh size progressively. good luck! Ynot - Tsaad |

Hi
Yes, meshing creates arrays and they are to be stored in RAM and are to be processed by Level 2 cache of Processor. It may not be the RAM which is blowing up, it could be L2 cache. It is used in the process. So, better increase the mesh size step by step, or create multi volumes, only for the purpose of meshing. Vinod Dhiman |
