how to obtain streamline profile for 3d

Dear all,

want to generate the profile for streamline in 3D case in FLUENT. There is no option for streamline under the contour for 3d cases. Could anyone give me some idea on that?

Hi Frank,

you cannot define a streamline in 3D! The streamfunction two dimensional. In 3D, you will streamsurfaces, and they don't actually provide you with any info.

What i usually do, when i have a 3D model, i use the pathlines. They are a great indicator of what's going on inside your domain. and you can actually produce some really high quality good looking pics with that.

Try to mess around with it.
