I'm trying to do a subsonic analysis of an airfoil undergoing pitching motion using Fluent. Could anyone tell me how to get started or where to find help? It is part of the analysis on a flapping insect wing. At this point I want to simplify the problem as much as possible.
Do I need to learn how to create a dynamic mesh in order to solve this problem. Eventually I'd like to perform unsteady analysis (pitch and plunge). Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Hey man, You need to read the Fluent Toutorial Manual. Please see the contents. The first good example is in section 3-1 "Modelling external compressible flow" that exactly related to Airfoil. After that I encourage you to read the example in section 4-1 that is "Modelling unsteady compressible flow" that you will learn a lot about unsteady form of solution. At the end to learn the Dynamic mesh please read the section 11-1, " Using Dynamic Meshes". If you want anything please contact me.(hossesf@auburn.edu) Have a good night, Farid,
