This is a general comment. I've a hard time understanding people saying the the 'solution' is not converging. what do they mean by that? is the solution oscillating or what? Try to be specific when you post question in the forum so that people can respond accurately. For example, one can considered a solution to be converged when all the residual of the solving equations is less or equal to 10e-3 or 10e-4 or 10e-6. Some also go on iterations, say 5000 or so. So those having converges poblem I guess you be better off if you can state your convergence criterion.

Using 2nd order upwind scheme gives more accurate results but there's a problem be convergence relative to 1st order. Thus while 1st order, the solution can goes beyond 10e-5 or so, the 2nd mght not. it may be result into oscillation. if the problem is not a transient then you might consider stopping in between and compare the prime variables results. The same goes with using different 'complex or advance' turbulence models. Read the literature on them or check fluent manual for more details on using those schemes and models.
