Hi, Can anybody please tell me whether the DEFINE_PROFILE udf is run only at the starting of solution or it is run after each interval. I want to define a profile at a boundary which will get modified after each iteration, depending on existing flow variables. Thanks & Regards, Vishal

It reads in FLUENT manual : DEFINE_PROFILE macro to define a custom boundary profile that varies as a function of spatial coordinates or time.

so I guess it runs after each interval.

actually I am doing the same job(I want to define a profile at a boundary which will get modified after each iteration, depending on existing flow variables)but I come across some problems.

I suggest you use DEFINE_ON_DEMOND(filename) to calculate related flow variables and store it in UDMI and then retrive it in DEFINE_PROFILE,and Go to Solve->Execute Commands... under Defined Commands change the value to 1.In the available field write as stated: de ud eod "filename"

This will execute command de (define) ud (user defined) eod (execute on demand) "filename" in each iteration.

I am not sure it will works ,anyway ,you can just try it and tell me the results.
