I want to create a point surface for plotting data and always get this error message:

I dont know whats wrong. Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

check your domain extents in first case. if you are tryin to create a surface outside your domain Fluent wont permit to do so.

Next chek that you are using proper co ordinate representation, i mean make sure your vertices are correct in both x y and z directions.

thx for your answer.

the point is inside the domain extents, this cant be the problem. what do you mean with 'proper coordinate representation'? its only one special point thats causes this error, others are working without any problems. so i think its no type error or something like this.

i dint mean tht it was typing error when you entered the value using keyboard. I was saying that suppose you want to define a verticle line yet if you vary x1 and x2 values along with y values then also such error results.

I faced the same problem. Then I tried taking the line slightly above the intended. That should not make much difference to the solution but I could find only this way to do.
I wanted line y=z=0 but that gave me error. So, I took the end points as x=0,y=0,z=1e-6 and x=0.3,y=0,z=1e-6.
