new gas

Hi,

I'm new to Fluent and I need some help. Can you please tell me how to create a gas that is not in the database (I do know the mass fraction of all the components in the gas). I'm not considering reactions.

Thanks in advance.

Re: new gas

For this you first need to load the individual components in the materials panel. Then go to mixture template..and edit the names..

Re: new gas

under define menu go to material option.

enter all the properties of gas like density, viscosity etc.

then click change/Create button. It will ask for overwrite option say no to it.

your new gas material will be created.

you can check it by using pull down menu in material option.

Thanks for your help,

once I loaded the components using the Fluid window, do I need to activate the Species and Trasport to create the mixture ?

thank you
