I'm trying to open fluent using the visual .net 2003 command prompt (in Windows XP), but I can only open fluent by going into the directory where it is installed.

I want to build and compile a UDF in fluent, but in order for it to recognize the file and not give me the "cannot open lib_udf_library" message, I need to open fluent from the directory where I have my case file and source file.

I have tried copying the case and source file directly into the ntx86 directory where the fluent.exe is installed. It lets me build the UDF file, but i still get the cannot open libudf error when I load it.

can anyone help me??

Make sure that you have correct path so that Fluent is recognized command.

Once you are in visual.net prompt, cd to the directory where you have your files and then launch fluent from command prompt.

thanks for the reply. I managed to find the solution. I had to set the environment variables for Fluent first. At first it didn't work but then I rebooted the Pc and now it works just fine.
