Hello, I'm trying to simulate a supersonic shell (7.62mm for example) at Mach 2.4 at a very large distance.

I've heard that it was possible to avoid simulating directly (during a month!!), by proceding in 2 steps consisting of the near field CFD solution and a propagation to the ground (from the near to the far field).

This propagation can be done with specific algorithms, but I don't know where to find one.

Does any body knows if this can be done with fluent ? or any other way of study ??

Thanks !

Cyril
