variable inlet velocity

Hello,

i´d like to have a variable inlet velocity in order to simulate a pulsed stream.

As far as I know it can be done by using UDFs.

Can anybody help me out here and maybe give me some idea on how to do this? I´ve never worked with UDFs before.

Thanks

Sascha

Re: variable inlet velocity

Hi you can find the solution to your problem in the FLUENT 6.2 UDF Manual at the chapter related with the DEFINE_PROFILE macro that is the 4.3.13, there is an example in which a variable mass flow rate is introduced as a boundary condition, you can modify easily this udf to a variable velocity profile. good luck
