Default supersonic/initial pressure

Hi guys,

How does the supersonic/initial pressure in the mass flow inlet BC affect a compressible flow simulation? I couldn't find how fluent uses the value entered in this field.

I am getting a rather weird behavior. I have a propane inlet with a fixed mass flowrate and an initial pressure of 240 psi. When using these values, its giving me a 500 Psi pressure in the manifold from the tank to the combustion chamber! and then when it enters the chamber it becomes more of a physical value.

any help would be appreciated.
