Coal combustion

Does anyone have experience in using fluent for pulverised coal combustion. If so, do you have any hints and tips relating to the mesh, combustion models, radiation models etc.

Hi Brian, there is a tutorial offered by fluent dealing with coal combustion. You should try this. It uses non-premixed combustion where you define your own pdf (coal and oxidizer), k-e-model... also you should select p1 as the radiation model for coal combustion. Regarding the mesh: are you having a 2D or 3D problem? In case of a 2D problem you should define the x-axis as your rotational axis.
