Heat Generation rate and Free stream temperature

Hi, Can someone explain me how to calculate the heat Generation rate and what is called free stream temperature in convection boundary condition?

The freestream temperature is the reference temperature that is paired with the definition of the heat transfer coefficient per Newton's law of cooling. If you know what the heat transfer coefficient is, then you must also know the reference temperature because you cannot define a heat transfer coefficient until after you have defined a reference temperature.
Heat generation rate is part of your problem definition, you should know what it is. It is only applicable though, if you have a non-zero wall thickness. |
