Hi fluent users:‎ I need to represent two phase oil-water flow into a pipe, I consider water flow in the ‎down part of the pipe and oil in the upper part. I consider water as secondary phase ‎and oil as primary but I have a problem to how should I put the value of volume fraction to the ‎secondary phase at the inlet of the pipe and what proper BC should I used? Anyone ‎can assist me in this problem?‎ Thanks a lot Khalid

You can use as bc: velocity-inlet or mass flow inlet. There you can select the volume fraction of water (secondary phase for you). If you select water = 0.8, this means that oil is 0.2 at the inlet.

I hope this help you some.

Dear Humberto:‎ Thanks for your answer , if I give the phase fraction of water (0.8) at the inlet then in ‎this case I think the two phases will become mixture but I need they flow separately ‎‎(water in the button of pipe and oil in the top) can you illustrate this point for me ‎please?‎ Thanks a lot KBS
