Simulating air jet into 2D & 3D water domain

Hello everybody,

i m trying to simulate an air jet with an opening of 1/4 in dia into a 2D water domain of about 1 ft x 1 ft and also for 3D domain of about 1 x 1 x 1 ft.

For 2D i m using a simple rectangle with opeing for air from the left vertical face somewhere in the middle and pressure outlet for top face. Similar is the sitution of 3D case.

The problem i m facing is that for any velocity like 1 ft/s or 5 ft/sec or even for 100 ft/sec the air jet in water only travel for 1 to 1.5 in towards right and then it changes its path adjacent to the wall (from where the air jet is coming) which in my opinion is not correct (it should move towards the oppoiste face).

I m using Eulerian model, k-epsilon, water (primary phase), air (sec phase), gravity is activate rest default values.

Its very important assignment for me, please help me . I m positively looking from people who have worked in Fluent.

Thanks in advance,

Imran.
