defining velocity profile in a wind tunnel model
hi My question is about modeling 3D MIRA notchback vehicle in a wind tunnel. I'm pasting the paragraph that MIRA.co.uk sent.
"To properly replicate the wind tunnel environment in your CFD model it will be necessary to account for the boundary layer on the floor of the wind tunnel as this can have a profound effect on the results. In the past we have created a mesh of an empty wind tunnel and experimented with how far upstream of the model we need to make the floor boundary condition 'no-slip' so that the natural boundary layer growth produces a thickness (to 95% of freestream speed) of 150mm at the centre of the balance turntable. We then add in the car geometry and re-mesh but with the same cell sizes and boundary conditions on the upstream area of the floor."
Do I have to define a velocity profile at the inlet. Can you please inform me? I'm using fluent by the way
