Hello,

Please I am simulating 3D geometry using fluent. My objective is to test the evaporation of the fuel. I have looked at the fluent tutorial on evaporation of spray. The main differences in the that tutorial and my work is the type of material, geometry and the injection type (I am using pressure swirl atomizer). I have followed the tutorial systematically, however I keep on having this message, Advancing in DPM

Number tracked=60, coalesced=0, escaped=0, aborted=0, trapped=0, evaporated=0, incomplete =0.

Any help please.

Regards, Eunice.

... no problem until now. This message tells you that now there are 60 particles in your calculation-area. IŽm not used to the tutorial but somewhere there should be a boundary where these particels leave. Then youŽll get the number of the leaving particles in the same message. ( for example tracked=3500 escaped=35 ) hope that helps

we are dealing with the same problem. I am trying to simulate low temperature boiler. Fuel is oil liquid, that should evaporate and than burn. I also use pressure swirl atomizer.

I do not have such a problem as you have at the moment... but...I have a lots of other problems .. Did you turn on the Particle Radiation Interaction option under Physical Models Tab in the Discrete Phase Model Panel ?? Of course you have turn on Interaction with continuos phase... It looks like you don't have fire at all. ??

What kind of DPM are you using: steady or unsteady ?? Which boundary conditions did you set for surroundings walls (it should be trap for liquid fuel.) How many number of particle strams do you have?

Thank you very much. I have not turn on the particle radiation interaction. I however turned the continuous interaction on discrete phase injection panel.

I have not started the combustion as of now. I am looking the evaporation of the particles before the combustion. I am using steady DPM. I used escape as the boundary condition at the surround wall.

Thank you very much
