Hi all

may be this is a basic question... What is the need to devide a complex volume into small sub volumes before meshing, what are the advantages. please let me know clearly,

Actually the method which u imply for solving CFD requires you to make a small volumes near the important regions because then you can actually obtain or capture small scales especially close to the wall or also the accurate value of the variable you are interested in. By breaking the larger volume into smaller you also aviod false result with the discritization scheme you are using .
