Default negative volume message during parallel computati

Hi all,

I am dealing with flow around the bluff body at yawn angles. For this purpose, i am using periodic boundary condtions along with the sliding mesh. When i read/run the case file on the windows system, it works fine and similar is the case for single node computation on the unix system. However when this case file is used on unix system for parallel computation, it gives error of negative volume as follows on the grid check. Can anybody help me to overcome this problem. Thanks in advance for your kind help.

When I've run into this in the past, I would setup the geometry on the single node on the UNIX system and save it, then I would read it back into a parallel process. There used to be a problem (and apparently still is a problem) with how Fluent setup periodic BCs in parallel mode, and you could bypass this by setting up your case on a single node, then reading it into a parallel process.

Hope this helps, and good luck, Jason

Thanks for your kind reply. At present i am setting up all the boundary conditions etc on a single node and write the case file. Then using parallel nodes, when i read the previously written case file and perform the grid check, it fails. Though i have tried many times to create case file from scratch using msh file; but the problem persists for parallel unix version. By the way, i am using Fluent 6.1.22. Now looking forward to use only the windows for this particular case. Any thoughts are most welcomed.
