I've got a "tube" in a half 3D configuration.
I would like to plot the velocity in the symetry plane (x-y), for a given X (vertical iso, at the end of the tube) to see the speed close and far from the tube. But I don't know how to plot it just in the symetry plane... http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/7622/tubeuo7.png Can anybody help me !!?? Many Thanks ! (I tryed to create an iso surface x=1,50m, and plot it like in 2D, but it does not work) |

The reason of this plot is that I want to see how far from the tube the turbulences become low (to check if my wings (that's a small rocket) are wide enough to get out of the turbulences area).
Many thks !! |

Open surface->iso-surface. Choose "Grid..." from the first drop down panel and "x-coordiante" from the second drop down panel. Click "compute" to get the min/max values for x. Input the desired x-value in the iso-value line and click "create". This will create a new surface for postprocessing (display->contours ...).

Thanks, but when I do this, Ive got a plane like this one : http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/27/tubetr1.png
And the result is not very good (very bad in fact) : http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5...eresultgd7.png What I want is to plot it only in the sym plane, like a 2D case... Do you know how ?? |

For xy plots you can use a line for postprocessing. The follwing picture shows a 3d nozzle an how create a line (surface->line/rake) aligned with the green area.
http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/2737/hc1ne9.jpg And here is the resulting line and the velocity plot along this line. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3522/hc2me9.jpg Hope it helps, RoM. |
