criterion for condensation??????

Hi all;

I am simulating the condensing water-vapor flow in a tube. Initially,fluid is single gas phase, but fluid is condensed,gradually .

Is following criterion suitable and logical to distinguish liquid phase from gas phase?

If T < Tsat , Fluid is in liquid phase zone.T > Tsat , Fluid is in gas phase zone.

Reynolds number is about 100000.

Best regards.

I think this sound suitable!!! And I think it has nothing to do with the Reynoldsnumber (exept from the heat transfer and the fow conditions which were responsable for the temperature value ;-) )

I think what u said is okay only if pressure is included while calculting the Tsat.

Pressure plays major role in deciding the Tsat. [Ref. the chapter Pure Substances in any Basic Thermodynamics book ]

If u have already taken care the pressure effect then the following is correct. If T < Tsat , Fluid is in liquid phase zone.T > Tsat , Fluid is in gas phase zone.

All the best, MKP

hi i am solving one heat pipe,nothing but a closed axialy rotating zone carying freon vapour.can u tell me wat are the solver settings necessary.

advancethanks for regards
