hello,
is it possible to define a non uniform velocity profile as a boundary condition at a velocity inlet; that is, can i set the velocity profile at the inlet to be parabolic, for example, instead of constant? if yes, how? thank you

It is very easy. Please read the UDF manual file, you will know how to do. I remember that there is a example like what you want to do.

Hi!
There is another way: write the profile as a table (x,y,vx,vz,vy or something like that) or take it from another simulation (with write profile). Than, import the profile (file->read->profile) and use the vel. components as vel. components in the velocity inlet BC. You may orientate the profile, look in the fluent manual, how that works.
