Gambit - Mesh Problem for a complex 3D geometry

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to mesh a pretty complex 3D geometry (saying a realistic human airway reconstructed by CT scans) with fine mesh near the wall for internal flow, of course.

I tried "boundary layer" and "size-function" in GAMBIT, however, due to the complex geometry (since it is a non-uniform/rough surface tubes and has lots of flow divider), successful mesh (fine layer of mesh near wall) can never be achieved.

Therefore, is anyone here know how I can mesh this kind of geometry with reasonable computational time and cost in human power to create fine mesh layer near the wall? Thank you so much in advance!

Nelson

Neilson, Gambit is not that much mature to handle the complex geometry, The package I have done it with ANSA and T-Grid. To some extend ICEM can also do it but the ANSA and T-Grid combination is more efficient. Let me know if you need any help in this.

Dear Nelson I dn't knw much about CFD but there is one software calld 3matic which convert CT scan directly in to mesh (As per your requriment) with less efforts and optimum time. You can visit "http://www.fluent.com/news/pr/pr101.htm" for further details. We are associated with "Materialise, Belgium" for this kind of services.
