I don't know if I understand your question but if you have .cas and .dat file you can do two things: files-read-case&data or files-read-case apart from import an other parametres. If you read the .cas files then you can do the same with .dat file.

Re: read data file

I don't know if there is something wrong with the format of the file, after an error message, sometimes (I don't know why) fluent lock options like the boundary conditions, material or postprocessing panels. I faced this problem when I run a simulation with a udf that reported an error. I solved the problem by reloding the udf.

If all is working fine there are several ways to carry out the postprocessing like display-contours and then select the variable and the surface where do you want to see the results. A part from that you can see results by ploting an XY graphic (plot-XY plot)... Tutorials from www.fluentusers.com are usefull to learn postprocessing skills.

Hi Sanrda,

use file->write->profile

and select the surface(s) you what to have your data reported. If you want to see all results, that select the surface, that is the mesh (usually called "default interiour").

Fluent writes the x,y,z coordinate, and then the values you have selected.

Hope, it helps!

Ralf
