Regarding about References values

Hi folks,
I´m working with a whole airplane and I´m having some problems to make clear this: I´m wanting to get the CL and CD of the plane. So, what reference values should I put? And, in the force monitors, I have to select all the surfaces that conform the airplane, right? Thanks in advance. |

You should have a reference that you're comparing to (another airplane for example). Use a similar reference area as what you're comparing to (i.e. if your baseline is another airplane that uses the wing area for it's reference, then you should be using your wing area as your reference). The planform of the wings is a common reference area, but again, make sure you're using the same thing as what your comparing to, otherwise the numbers are useless.
Yes, you have to select all of the surfaces. Hope this helps, and good luck, Jason |
