nusselt number
 
hello,

i just want to that does fluent gives a localized Nu number i.e the value of nusselt number at a particular point? Thanks!!

Hi Meenu,

I presume it does. You would need to write a UDF for that.

You can plot the nusselt number to check weather your solution has reached converged state in a transient flow.

I assume you are working on boiling.

hey!! Thanks Ryan, I working on a heat transfer problem in a cylinder with an inner cavity containg water which is heated...using nusselt no i want to calculate the h(heat transfer coeff.) at the inner wall of the vessel. As far as i found it gives me nusselt no. for the water zone but my question was can it give at a defined point. I have never used UDF in fluent.

Please guide me if i need to do tht where to start from?

udf may not be required, tri to monitor a point surface and you can plot surface heat transfer function on tha same
