modelling a porous wall as outlet
Hello,
I want to modell a filter to seperate particels. Can I use a porous wall as outlet boundary to seperate injected particel? And how I define a the porous wall as boundary condition? Thanks for your help Swen |
Re: modelling a porous wall as outlet
Hi!
I dont know about particles, I think, there is a udf needed... You can define your porous wall as a "porous jump". It is like a internal edge, but with the properties of a porous medium. The parameters of the porous jump can be derived from the geometry of the filter. It is not possible, to use the porous jump as outlet. I would modell a region beyond that outlet (if you have a pipe, model additional 2*d, if it is the exit from a container, modell the surrounding to a certain extent) and than set a pressure outlet condition. Hope, it helps Ralf |

Thank you very much, i modeled the porous jump and added some volumen after this and it works ...

hi
I want to model a filter in order to separate particles!! did you use porous jump with particles? did this boundary condition capture particles and do separation in good way?? you answer is very important for me :) thanks a lot regards zohreh |
