calculating unsteady heat release due to comb

Hi All,
I am having unsteady combustion using the finite rate/eddy dissipation model and i want to calculate the unsteady heat release at every time step in the combustor. The formula for the heat release rate is the volume integral of the product of the reaction rate and the heat of combustion. The heat of combustion is given by the summation of the product of the stoichiometric coefficient of species and the enthalpy of species, where the stoi coef is neg. for reactants and positive for products. Any idea how this can be done in Fluent? I am thinking of using custom field function but the trouble i am having is with the heat of combustion. Because the calculation is unsteady, it is likely that this value will be changing at every time step and so how do i compute this value at every time step. Thanks for the help in advance. James |

Hello James,
I am also doing similar kind of work and stuck there. Can you please guide me, if you are able to get that? Regards: MAC |
