Fluent error

Error messagae goes like this: skipping zone *name of the boundary condition (not refrenced by grid)
Do anyone know what is the problem? |

i think you meshes a face, which was not the part of the volume, so when the mesh was exported the face mesh (not connected to any volume) also exported. In the mesh it is like a surface mesh. Fluent sees this and skips, since its not referenced by any zone (fluid or solid, ie in volumes in gambits terms). If you try to read only surface meshes, fluent will give you error.
Anyway best way to check what went wrong is plot wall in grid display, you will see a wall at the place you thought this surface should be. |

i am also having this problem when using periodic boundary conditions in the streamwise and spanwise directions for turbulent channel flow. Any idea how to resolve this problem??

The error is cx-xy-append-data: invalid number (y). I do not know how to set the boundary condition and operation condition when I will simulation. Help me!

hi, i can someomne help me with this, i am having this error in gambit;all mesh nodes must lie on the XY plane within tolerance, my gambit drawing is 2 volumes united together with a fan bellmouth which i drew using vertex and revolving it. you can reply through my email add;yakubu@sun.ac.za, your response is well appreciaciated
