I am running LES of turbulent channel flow but am going to put a trip in the flow to generate the turbulence before running LES. Any ideas of how i should do this and what size the trip would need to be.
Thanks in advance |

Hi David
If you are running LES, why you don't use in the inlet one of the Fluctuation Velocity Algorith; you have the Vortex Method and the Spectral Synthesizer. In the Vortex method, for example, you can specify a number of Vortices in the inlet. Then you have a turbulence Specification method and there you can use k and epsilon (from RANS), turbulent intensity, length scale, viscosity radio, etc. Good luck Hugo |
