Default Error when meshing

Hi all,

Please help me. I m a new user.

I used Gambit to construct a basic cylinder which will represent a gasifier. Nearly at the bottom of the cylinder, I construct 9 nos. of nozzles by using cylinder also. Those nozzles located circumferential the gasifier. Then I substract those volumes so that I can get a gasifier with penetrated holes(nozzles). The problem is error message came out:

ERROR: Imprinting of projection edges failed when meshing volume volume.1. Check to insure that source faces are correct.

Please tell what went wrong?

By the way, how we can know that the meshing scheme we choose is appropriate for our model? On what basis we are supposed to choose the scheme?

Thanks in advance.

rayy

ok why donot try for tet\hybrid....( tet ).u can get any type mesh byusing this scheme...and if it is not possible then go for reduce interval size and try....

Thanks Chanukyareddy...it works!! I used tet/hybrid and reduce the interval size.

By the way, i got another question...my model consists of 3 part of cylinder with different diameter. Then I union my model and become 1 volume. Since the middle part i only can mesh it with tet/hybrid and the other 2 parts I use Hex,...does it mean that I shouldn't union my model but rather let it be 3 separated part with different meshing scheme?

If we use different scheme and different interval size on 1 model(consists of 3 parts?, does it affect the quality/accuracy of my simulation?

Thanks

rayy
