Does anybody has fluent working on fedora core 5 or 6. On both releases, when I try to start fluent software I have the folowing error message: ************* Loading "/opt/Fluent.Inc/fluent6.3.26/lib/flprim.dmp.1119-32" Done. /opt/Fluent.Inc/fluent6.3.26/bin/fluent: line 4820: 5057 Segmentation fault

EOF on stdout. The fluent process could not be started. *************

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Fedora core is not a supported platform for Fluent. If you are licensed user, ask your vendor to send you a list of supported platforms.

Fluent can be run in mathing bash version, no matter what Linux distribution is used. Fluent 6.2 and 6.3 require bash 3.0 version.

Originally fluent needed the 2.4 series kernel but with the launch of the most recently supported Redhat Enterprise version the kernel is up to the 2.6 series. This in combo with a bash 3.0 variant will allow you to run fluent on fedora core 4. I have had the bash issue on FC5 and FC6, there is a fix for it if you google suse and fluent and CFD.

Cheers,

DH

Please follow these instructions for running on suse, a similar process should be followed for FC variants.
