I previously asked about using LES to simulate channel flow and was curious of how to initiate the turbulence. I recieved this message back

If you are running LES, why you don't use in the inlet one of the Fluctuation Velocity Algorith; you have the Vortex Method and the Spectral Synthesizer. In the Vortex method, for example, you can specify a number of Vortices in the inlet. Then you have a turbulence Specification method and there you can use k and epsilon (from RANS), turbulent intensity, length scale, viscosity radio, etc.
