2D and 3D in Fluent

Hi

I see that the 2D model is inconsistent with the 3D model in that the pressure field and values are very different from the 2D simulation in Fluent. For the same b.c's, for instance, for identical velocity b.c, this difference in pressure field causes the velocity field and UDS to be different although not exactly (in a qualitative sense) like the 2D case. There are orders of magnitude differences between the two cases, which is inconsistent with my understanding of 2D and 3D problems. This difference is augmented when porous medium flow is modeled. Any suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate your input. How can the state variable solution be very different (by orders of magnitude) between the 2D and 3D case?
