how to model it

hi i am modeling a fluid flow through a pipe such that 1)a high presure gas flow into the tube for 2sec. at that time outlet is closed 2)then both outlet and inlet remain closed for 1sec, 3)then outlet get opened for another 2sec during this time inlet remain closed.

The process continue......

how to do it ? plz reply

thanks in advace

Re: how to model it

Hi, for the inlet, you can define a velocity function at the inlet boundary conditions and load it when you set the boundary conditions. I havent used it, but details are given inthe userguide. For the outlet, i dont know if there is a direct method to do it. One way is to run the iteration for 2 seconds, use the asme data and feed into a new mesh with wall as boundary conditions. Or i think by using scripting it can be done, but may be a bit involved.

Hi Renuka,

You need to create a UDF for your transient simulation.

Determine the time you want this process to carry on and you can create a loop and make it run.

Gud luck!!
