I'm doing research about flow pass pipe. I'm suing Fluent. There are 2 conditions from experiment at the inlet. The first one is at total pressure = 6 Bar and velocity = 1 m/s

The second one is at total pressure = 10 Bar and velocity = 1 m/s

I dont know the conditions at the outlet so I have to use OUTFLOW. Right now,I dont know how to set the boundary condition both pressure and velocity in one time.

If I set only velocity = 1, this means the results don't depend on the pressure. And if I set only pressure = 6 or 10 Bar, from the simulation results, the velocity at the inlet is not equal to 1 m/s as well.

Or I have to set operating pressure but I've tried...It's not working.

it is necessary to put only speed, the pressure does not change anything if the mode is incompressible. after convergence Fluent gives a pressure difference which you can seek your exact value of exit pressure.

The velocity inlet condition can set both the pressure and the velocity.Have you tried?

Actually I'm doing flow pass butterfly valve and I have to find value of torque of the valve too. from experiment, at the condition 6 bar and 10 bar, value of torque is diffirent so this means the condition is not the same too. In Fluent I cant put only velocity to get results for 2 conditions.

and in "velocity inlet" there are no pressure to put. I've tried to find it but i couldnt. if u have a nyt idea please tell me too

you should be able to use pressure outlet and it's just like an exhaust to vacuum(if left at standard 0Pa), unless I've missed something.

It may be necessary to extend the outlet a little downstream due to reversed flow close to it.
