Hi,

I am trying to model a cooling ciruit in a rotating turbine blade. I started off with a circular channel for start, and was trying to examine the heat transfer characteristics with a stationary tubulent flow at first. I tried using the K-Epsilon model with wall function but i could not get a Yplus value above 30. So i tried to coarsen my grid and increase the reynolds number until i got it. However, i noticed a problem once i plot the velocity profile at different points along the channel, the velocity is not zero at the wall. I tried using the LES and the Sparlat Allmaras model and there is still a velocity value at the wall. I've exhausted myself trying to increase the pipe diameter, refine or coarsen the grid but there is no avail. Can anyone help me on this?

I am trying to use the k-epsilon model in fluent and the convergence is almost right away after about 50 iterations. help please

what is the problem? if you don't have many cells then it could converge after 50 iterations. Are you using 2d? if so that sounds ok.

Andrew - sorry your question is too long, i fell asleep after the first 2 lines.
