Prous Jump Help

Guys:

I have a case where I have to use a gradutaed perforated plate in a duct. I am using gridgen to mesh. I give a boundary condition of"porous jump" for the required place and I export the case file. When I read in the case file, It does not give me an option to give multiple porosity values for different sections along the plate. How will I be able to do this?

Thanks a million

Derick.

Hi Derick, if you want to define multiple porosity for different section you have to define each section as a volume zone in the mesher. Name each section with an other name and import it to fluent. Then you can see in the boundary condition panel the volume zones and you can activate the porous zone model instead of the porous jump. The porous jump is only for thin parts like grids appropriate.
