Hi,
I modeled a rectangular pipe with dimensions 125*72*1020 in Catia and exported it to Gambit.I used the clean up tools like clean short edges, holes etc to clean the model and meshed the volume using hex/wedge and cooper options. The mesh seems to be good and connected in all the ways. When I read the mesh in Fluent i see the error Reading "C:\Documents and Settings\student\mesh with no probes.msh"... 208818 nodes. 208818 mixed wall faces, zone 2. Error: no cells in zone, id = 0, ind1 = 1, indn = 0Reading Cells: failed while reading section 12. Clearing partially read grid. Error: Read aborted due to critical error. Error Object: () Error: Error reading "C:\Documents and Settings\student\mesh with no probes.msh". Error Object: #f Why I could have got this. Please advice me. Thankyou all, Swapna |

Yes,when I exported the mesh I see the mesh was exported successfully. What do you mean by remeshing? You want me to delete the old mesh and redo the mesh or something else? Do I need to limit the mesh size depending on the dimensions?

if ur geom is simple. give a global size in vol mesh which is reasonable. and use tet grid. leave it.
if ur geometry is having small faces then u need to mesh faces and then vol mesh. |

ensure the version selection is correct. using the default 2d version to open the 3d mesh may be the bug.

Hi
I have the similar trouble of swapna, i tried to do the volume mesh and follow to import to Fluent but it show me this message: > Reading "C:\Users\JohnV\Desktop\Acousticwing.msh"... 897 nodes. 330 mixed wall faces, zone 2. 484 mixed wall faces, zone 3. 44 mixed wall faces, zone 4. 44 mixed wall faces, zone 5. Error: no cells in zone, id = 0, ind1 = 1, indn = 0Reading Cells: failed while reading section 12. Clearing partially read grid. Error: Read aborted due to critical error. Error Object: () Error: Error reading "C:\Users\JohnV\Desktop\Acousticwing.msh". Error Object: #f Do you know the reason of this error? Can i to send the file for your check? Thanks. |

I received the same warning when trying to read in a mesh.
My problem was that the mesh I was trying to read in was still being copied to the import location via ftp from somewhere else. So, an incomplete mesh file was to blame for the warning message. I'm hoping that this might help somebody and save them some time. |

I had a similar problem and I found the error in my mesh. I created a 3D mesh with Hypermesh and I did it with using the drag function. So in my final mesh I had 2D and 3D elements because I needed surface elements to drag them to 3D. After deleting the 2D elements Fluent accepted the 3D mesh.
I hope this helps to solve some of your problems |

I had the same problem. I solve this problem just by changing the path of the mesh. Just change the path of the mesh (the folder which you want to read the mesh)! In the current address, fluent cannot read the mesh.

I modeled wavy finned flat tube by punched longitudinal vortex generators but i have a problem both my outlet and inlet heat flux are negative.
my friends help me to find my problems. what do you think about this problem. |

Hello Everyone,
I knew the post is an old one, but I have the same problem and hope that someone can help. in my case, Flunet had read the mesh and combined different meshes successfully, but after I have set the requirement in fluent and save it then when I tried to open it the same error (which is stated below) occurred. I did the meshing again for different geometries and exactly the same error happened again. I changed the directory and still have the problem. I do not know why and wish someone can help. Error: Error reading "F:\XXX\YYY\zzz\ccc\ddd\Case1_Run1.cas". Error Object: #f Thank you in advance |

Hello,
My case, Flunet had successfully read and combined different meshes that build the geometries, but after I have set the model in fluent and save it then when I tried to open it an error (which is stated below) occurred (also small error window opened up and it is attached). I did the meshing again for different geometries and exactly the same error happened again. I changed the directory and still have the same problem. I do not know why and wish someone can help. Error: Error reading "F:\XXX\YYY\zzz\ccc\ddd\Case1_Run1.cas". Error Object: #f Thank you in advance |
