Two-phase flow

Hi, I have two questions:
1. Is that possible with fluent to carry out simulation for two-phase flow in annular, slug, plug, wispy annular and mist regime? Is there any tutorial for the same? 2. I want to know that fully developed flow can be defined at the inlet only through UDF? or is there any other way to define fully developed flow? Because if i start the simulation in normal way then it will require large fully developed length. So, how can i reduce fully developed length in two-phase flow? thanking you and have a nice day |

2. You can run a simulation on a sufficiently long representative geometry until you get fully developed flow and write the velocity profile (write BC). You can use that saved profile for your real geometry inlet(read BC).

I thought that this is posible for single phase flow or can it be applied to two-phase also? Why i am asking this because due to presence of another phase the velocity profile in the pipe gets changed. So writing the fully developed velocity profile and applying to real geometry can solve my problem?, AAS

I have used this in the discrete phase model. I write the profile for fully developed flow and then read profile in my actual case for the inlet. This has helped stabilize a very sensitive reacting flow solution. I am not certain it applies the same for multi-phase with large volume fraction of second phase.

We can not solve condensation of R134a in a pipe with Fluent, CFX, CF-Design programs. I could not find any article in citation index about condensation (two phase flow problem) solution with any program. Our university is ready to pay its fee for solution...
