Thermal Boundary Condition

Dear all,

In the thermal boundary condition there's an option for Radiation and it asks for external emmisivity and external temperature. Can anyone tell me what do they mean? Also how's it different from using a radiation model?

Please help! Thanks, Arpit

Re: Thermal Boundary Condition

It is to account for radiation to a known atmosphere which is external to your model... say outside walls of your model dissipating heat by radiation means to the atmosphere.. Most of the problems (except under vacuum) will have other than radiation as well, like wall is dissipating heat by natural convection or forced convection...

This boundary condition applies to only outside wall..

Hope it helps. AJ
