Default Turbulence : rectangular obstacle in a pipe

Hi, I am solving a 2d axi-symmetric problem in a pipe with a rectangular obstacle at the centre. Flow is incompressible (air) with inlet velocity of 80 m/s. I am using Reynolds stress model (RSM) for turbulence. I see that turbulence kinetic energy and dissipation rate are high near the sharp edge of the obstacle and stretches in the flow direction ( above the region where flow separates from the wall of obstacle). however when i plot turbulent intensity i see maximum value occur in the wake region of obstacle and not in the region where maximum turbulent kinetic energy or dissipation rate occurs. can anybody help me interpret the results.. turbulent intensity is the ratio between tke and mean flow velocity. the mean velocity should be lower in the wake...

I am sorry, it was turbulent viscosity not turbulent intensity. Sam
