Is there any harm in y+
For turbulence models with enhanced wall treatment, y+ should be on the order of 1-4. As I understand it this will put 1 grid point within the viscous sublayer (please correct me if I'm wrong). But what if the y+ value is less than 1, say .4 or lower. Should you strive to have at least y+ = 1? Or, if you're not so concerned about mesh size, is it ok to have y+ < 1?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, jbb |
Re: Is there any harm in y+
As i understand that there is no harm is less than 1 y+. But one thing should recofirmed that the there should be atleast 7 point in momentum boundary layer thickness.
plz check out some papers that how many nodes should be in the boundary layer. Regards |
