acoustics in fluent
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a small problem. I am using Fluent 6.3 for a 2D aeroacoustic simulation. My SPL is far too high as compared with my 3D validation data. I was wondering if anyone knew if the FWH code in Fluent uses a statistical model for turning 2D simulations to equivalent 3D noises. And if so, what the statistical model would be based on, i.e what would the bredth of the model be. Hopefully I can use this to explain the 20dB increase for the 2D runs that I have.
