y+ adaption

Hey

I'm simulating a negatively buoyant flow near a vertical wall. I'm using the standard wall function which requires a y+ value in the range of 30 to 300. I don't want to go back to Gambit to change the mesh, so I'm using the adaption feature to coarsen the mesh near the wall up to a value in that range. I can refine but not coarsen the mesh (including Adaption with Gradients etc.). Is there a way to coarsen the mesh?

Re: y+ adaption

you cannot coarsen a mesh beyond the original mesh density. You can refine then coarsen but if you want coarser than original you need to remesh. You may be able to use the MDM remeshing tools to do this if you have to stay in Fluent.
