plotting on the edge of a face

Hello,

I have specified a face in Gambit as 'wall'. I want to plot static pressure at one of the edges. How can i do it in Fluent. The face constitutes part of a volume.

Thank you.

Hey

First, You have to know the coordinates (x, y, z) of the two verices (end points) of that edge. You can get them from Gambit (there are other ways to specify a line (check the manual), but I find this the easiest). Then, in Fluent, Go to "Line/Rake" and insert the coordinates of the two end points. If you want the pressure values at the center of each cell, choose line (they might not be equally speced though if your grid is not uniform in that direction), or choose rake and specify the number of data points you want (they will be equally spaced). Then go to "plot", "xy plot, and choose Pressure for the y function and your line/rake for the x function.

Good Luck

HI,

Thank you for your help. Will this method work for a curved edge as well.

Thanks,
