Multiple Fluid Zones

I am trying to model a rotating body. I was following Fluent tutorial 8 on Multiple Rotating Frames which uses multiple fluid zones.

However there is no corresponding Gambit tutorial which identifies how to do this.

I am trying to get my rotor (consisting of 15 blades on a vertical axis) to rotate. However in Gambit it won't allow me to define a fluid zone around the blades I keep getting error messages saying that: Continuum or Boundary conditions specified for faces x and y are not valid for Fluent 6.

Can anyone help please? Thanks

Re: Multiple Fluid Zones
Have you define a zone of fluid in gambit? You must define different zone in Gambit Continuum condition faces. If you do that and it don't work y can't help you.

Re: Multiple Fluid Zones
Olivier, thanks for your reply.

I have 15 blades which have 6 faces each defined as walls. Then I have tried to encompass these is another cylindrical volume which I have defined as a fluid zone in the continuum types.

Is this the correct procedure?

Thanks again

Re: Multiple Fluid Zones
I think it is correct. But if it doesn't work I don't know what you can do.

Good luck for your model.
