flow past cylinder
i've gone through many tutorial in the internet but still cannot mesh succesfully and use fluent to anaylze the cylinder. can anyone give me a step by step guide from making vertices to analysing it in fluent. the radius is 30.15mm. it is a 2d project. thank you

Please explain something specific difficulty faced in meshing.

Re: flow past cylinder
i draw two circles (one as the domain and one as the wall) and join them using two straight edges. after that i form two faces and mesh both of them.i use a mesh with a ratio 1.4 with interval count of 70 on the straight edges. and a ratio 1 with interval 50 on both circles. a when i perform a grid check in fluent it says grid check failed with a reason "zone 4 contains parallel nodes".i don't know what to do. i tried constructing the geometry as the pic in a tutorial tht provided the .msh file to test out in fluent but there was no steps to build it using gambit. it just provided the .msh file. and i just started using gambit and fluent for about a week so i'm not that good in it yet.so i'm stuck. please help!!!!

Re: flow past cylinder
i'm sorry. in the previous thread i typed the wrong error occuring in fluent. this is the actual error. please help :- Error: symmetry zone 4 has two adjacent cell zones.

Re: flow past cylinder
Error: symmetry zone 4 has two adjacent cell zones
This means you have created fluid cells on both sides of a symmetry line which is nonsensical. Obviously a symmetry line must only have fluid cells on one side. |
